[Dallas] Dal-Tile announced it recently completed the extensive Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) development process for all products manufactured in the company’s North American production facilities.
According to the company, With third party validation from PE International and certification by UL Environment, one of North America’s most trusted EPD program operators, Dal-Tile is the first manufacturer in the ceramic tile category to voluntarily disclose cradle-to-grave impacts from all Daltile, American Olean, Marazzi USA and Ragno USA products with UL Environment certified EPDs.
“At Dal-Tile, we are always looking to make our products even more sustainable, and the way the company does that is to increase the content of recycled materials used to formulate our products and improve the energy efficiencies of our processes,” said Robert Hurt, director of environmental, health and safety, Dal-Tile. “With EPD’s, Dal-Tile is now going above and beyond as an environmental leader – all in the name of transparency and clarity for the end user.”
An EPD is a comprehensive, internationally harmonized report that documents the ways in which a product, throughout its lifecycle, affects the environment. Dal-Tile’s EPDs are a valuable tool to empower its customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
